YB Elegance is a sole-trader makeup and hair artistry business based at 4 Lincoln Way, Southbury, Enfield EN1 1TE. For the purposes of data protection law, YB Elegance is the data controller for the information described below. You can contact us at any time at ybelegancebooking@gmail.com.
What we collect

Once your booking is confirmed, your name, email address, phone number and appointment details are also saved to our Google Calendar, so we can manage our schedule. This is the same information already listed above — nothing extra is collected for this purpose.
We do not ask for and would rather you did not send special-category data. If you tell us about a skin condition or allergy so we can work safely, we use that solely to deliver your service safely, on the basis of your explicit consent, and delete it once the appointment is done.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To arrange and deliver your appointment — performance of a contract with you.
- To answer enquiries — our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To take and reconcile deposits — performance of a contract, and our legal obligation to keep accurate financial records.
- To keep tax and accounting records — legal obligation (HMRC requires records to be kept for six years).
- To show photographs or video of your look on social media, our website, portfolio and professional marketing channels — your consent, given when you book. You can raise a concern on the booking form or before your appointment, and you may withdraw consent at any time afterwards, at which point we will remove the content from our own channels.
We do not use your details for marketing emails, and we never sell or share your data for advertising.
Who we share it with
Your information is handled by a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf:

Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent safeguards, as set out in each provider’s own policy. We will also disclose information where we are legally required to.
Cookies and the map
This website itself sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts.
Our booking calendar, provided by Cal.com, sets its own cookies while you are booking — these are functional, not advertising: they hold your chosen slot for you and manage the payment step. They are only set once you start booking, and are covered by Cal.com’s own privacy policy.
The Google Map on the contact section is not loaded until you click to load it, because Google sets cookies of its own once it appears. If you never click, no request is made to Google Maps.
How long we keep it
- Booking and enquiry emails: up to 24 months after your last appointment or message.
- Payment and invoice records: six years, as required by HMRC.
- Photographs used with consent: until you ask us to remove them.
- Home appointment addresses: deleted within 3 months of the appointment.
- Calendar entries (Cal.com and Google Calendar): kept as an appointment record for 24 months, then deleted, in line with our email retention above.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent (for example for photographs) at any time. Email ybelegancebooking@gmail.com and we will respond within one month, free of charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Children
Appointments for anyone under 16 must be booked by a parent or guardian, who provides the contact details and any photo consent.
Changes
Any updates to this notice will be published on this page with a new “last updated” date.
